With so many people having these countertops in their home, it’s important to know kitchen countertop care. Here are a few tips for each countertop:

Granite – Granite is a touchy stone when it comes to countertop care. Do not use any normal household cleaners to clean a granite countertop, make sure to use cleaners specifically for granite. Normal cleaners can be acidic and wear away the seal on your granite countertop. Use a sponge or a cloth to clean it and remove stains as soon as possible! Granite is highly resistant to scratching and stains, but it is best to be cautious, especially with high stain liquids like wine or sauces.

Quartz – Quartz is less picky than a granite countertop. These can be cleaned with dish soap and a rag or glass cleaner. Do not use abrasive products or acid/alkaline cleaners, but everything else should work fine with your quartz countertop. As with Granite, for best results clean up spills immediately! 

Porcelain/Dekton – Porcelain and Dekton are the easiest of the countertops to care for in this list. Most stains can be taken care of with a rag and soap and water. You can use any normal household cleaner, just keep an eye on what stain you are trying to clean up to know the best cleaner for the job!
